About Kim
Kim Snowden began sculpting in 1998 after a powerful dream in which she was told she would be instructed in the art of sculpture. Kim was a nurse at the time with no plans or desires to pursue a career in Art. However, the power of the dream convinced her to try sculpting. She has continued to have such dreams and she has continued sculpting.
In Kim’s dreams the instruction is non-verbal. The communication is in a more complete and direct form and she “experiences and knows” rather than “intellectualizes and understands.” Kim strives to incorporate this knowledge and instruction into her work.
“Sculpture is a powerful form of non-verbal communication,” says Kim. “It is form with essence and vibration. The form that emerges is related to the vibration or emotional energy I am feeling at the time of the work. When my work is successful, this emotional energy or vibration is experienced by the viewer. I hope my work will awaken in you the energy which is divine and without limit.” |
